ARE wins "Short Dance Work" Austin Critics Table Award
The 2007-2008 Austin Critics Table Award showcase took place Monday, June 2 at the Cap City Comedy Club. American Repertory Ensemble was there along with Austin's many talented artists.
ARE received the award for "Short Dance Work" for Soudain l'hiver dernier, the stunning duet by choreographer James Kudelka in which dancers David Justin and Ramon Thielen performed as part of the January 2008 performance season, Winter's Tryst.
Apart from the regular award categories, ARE Artistic Director David Justin received a special citation for the "Control Shift Award" for creating seamless, humorous and poignant transitions within the performance.
The night was spirited and sincere and ARE congratulates all Austin Critics Table award winners for contributing so much to Austin's art scene.
